Leigh and Heidi Whicker purchased Scottsburn Lodge in 2020 and is run as a small family-owned farm of nearly 200 acres. Initially running a prime lamb enterprise producing Merino / Poll Dorset lambs, the realisation that the country was better suited to the Suffolk Breed saw the purchase of stud and commercial sheep in 2023. The bloodlines include Hopea, Telpara, Ramsay Park and Seymour Vale.
The goal at Scottsburn Suffolks is to deliver value to clients who are buying our genetics. The breeding mantra is true to type and early maturing sheep. We measure, track and report the relevant ASBVs. We aim to make available flock and stud rams each year with a small number of ewes. Our flock has OJD MN1-V status, is Brucellosis free

Leigh Whicker spent his early years jackrooing on commercial and stud merino properties in SA and WA. A graduate of Marcus Oldham College, he exported lamb and beef before a career change into engineering and commercial roles in oil & gas. He returned to SA with Heidi after 15 years away interstate and overseas to pursue business local interests and established the stud in 2023.
